Audi and Porsche have been head to head since late 2016 trying to create the better electrical cars. However, Volkswagen just recently revealed that both Porsche and Audi are going to co-develop the next-generation vehicle.
The dynamic duo will focus on electrification, ‘digitization’ and autonomous driving. And although the two brands will share the design, they have promised that the they will both keep their own identities and uniqueness.
Both companies said that they are going to focus developing shared vehicle platforms, modules and components together but that all projects will be jointly lead by representatives from both brands.
Oliver Blume (Porsche CEO) said that, “We will cooperate wherever it makes sense.” He also stated, “We will also be very careful to maintain the differentiation between our brands. A Porsche is always a Porsche, and that will remain so in the future.”
In other news, Porsche has been confirmed as one of the manufacturers at the London Motor Show 2017.
